DIY Solar Powered Oven
As part of our hands-on STEM learning, students built their own DIY solar-powered ovens to explore how the sun's energy can be used in everyday life. This activity helped students learn about solar energy, heat transfer, and renewable resources while encouraging creativity and problem-solving, By designing, building, and testing their ovens, students experienced the engineering design process firsthand and discovered how science can be used to create practical, environmentally friendly solutions.

Making BBQ Sauce
Our students had a great time learning how to make their own BBQ sauce during this hands-on classroom activity! They measured ingredients, mixed flavors, and discovered how sweet, tangy, and savory ingredients come together to create a delicious sauce. Along the way, students practiced following directions, working together, and using basic math and science skills while cooking. Activities like this help bring learning to life by giving students real-world experiences that build confidence, encourage creativity, and make learning both fun and memorable.

Egg Drop Challenge
Students recently took part in our exciting Egg Drop Challenge, a hands-on STEM activity that challenged them to design and build a device that would protect a raw egg from breaking when dropped from a height.
The challenge encouraged students to use science, engineering, and creative thinking to solve a real-world program. They brainstormed ideas, selected materials, tested their designs, and learned how making changes can improve results. Along the way, they practiced teamwork, communication, and perseverance while having a lot of fun.
Congratulations to all of our students for their creative designs and hard work! Whether their egg survived or not, everyone learned valuable lessons about engineering, problem-solving, and never giving up.

Volunteering at the OKC Regional Food Bank
As we saw a need in the community, our students stepped up and donated canned food items that we could donate around Oklahoma City. We had the privilege not only of donating the food we collected but also of donating our time at the OKC Regional Food Bank in October 2025. This is something that we will continue to do to give back to our community!

Learning Life Skills at the Farm
Once a month, we head to the farm to learn and have fun. We have done many fun projects like building fences, cooking, learning to change a tire and upcycling old items. It is always an adventure that we look forward to.

OKC Science Museum

We always enjoy going to the OKC Science Museum! There are always fun projects for students to work on and new exhibits to explore.

Park Time!
To get our PE time in, we go to different parks around the OKC area daily. We walk as a group and then the student have some free time to play before we head back to the classroom to start our schoolwork.

Fishing for Crawdads!
In May 2025, we went to Frances Cate Park to fish for crawdads. It was a fun field trip with students and their families!
